Moominmamma Moomin bowl from Arabia is designed by Tove Slotte with illustrations based on two of Tove Jansson's and Lars Jansson's cartoons - Moomin Winter from 1959 and Moominmamma's Maid from 1956. In this motif we see Moominmamma and all that she embodies. Tove Jansson has herself mentioned that the Moominmamma's role is modelled on her own mother Signe “Ham” Hammarsten-Jansson. Moominmamma is the heart of the Moomin family and a mainstay of the Moomin Valley. The gentle, understanding and tender mother figure is always there to give advice and comfort the family. All are welcome in the understanding and tender Moominmamma's home. !
On the outside of the bowl, we see the Moomin mother together with her maid Misan when they are cleaning in the garden. The Moomin family has had a maid for a while because their neighbour, Fillyjonk, thinks that the Moomin house is too messy and that they therefore need extra help cleaning. The Moominmamma also takes time for herself and enjoys life, for example we can find her resting in a rocking chair with a cup of coffee in her hand on the other side of the bowl.
The Moomin bowl made from durable vitro porcelain is suitable for breakfast or dessert and can gladly to be matched with other Moomin products from Arabia to create a wonderful and inviting table setting.
