Moominmamma Moomin mug by Moomin Arabia is designed by Tove Slotte with a motif based on Tove Jansson's and Lars Jansson's comics Moomin Winter from 1959 and Moominmamma's Maid from 1956. In this motif we see Moominmamma and all that she embodies. Tove Jansson has herself mentioned that the Moominmamma's role is modelled on her own mother Signe “Ham” Hammarsten-Jansson. Moominmamma is the heart of the Moomin family and a mainstay of the Moomin Valley. All are welcome in the understanding and tender Moominmamma's home.

On one side of the mug, we see the Moomin mother cleaning in the garden together with her maid Misan. The Moomin family do indeed have a maid for a while because their neighbour Fillyjonk believes the Moomin house is messy and that they need extra help to clean. Just as Moominmamma takes care of others, she also takes time for herself, this we can see on the other side of the mug. Here we find the Moominmamma in a rocking chair with a cup of coffee enjoying the peace and quiet.
