Who is Bjørn Wiinblad?

Bjørn Wiinblad was born in Copenhagen in 1918, and already as a 17-year-old became a typography apprentice. He early showed his talent for creating and drawing imaginative worlds, and it was clear that he was going to become an artist.

When he finished as a typography apprentice, he began his training as a graphic designer at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

Bjørn Wiinblad’s style is characterised by strong colours, romantic and imaginative motifs and lots of sketches, a style that stands in contrast to the functionalism that was prevalent in Denmark at that time.
