The Finnish brand Hackman was founded as early as 1790 and is today one of the leading companies for cultery in Scandinavia. Their assortment includes high-quality dinnerware that adds a little extra to your dining occasion. Hackman cutlery makes every meal a real highlight – whether in everyday life or on festive occasions.
With its long history, Hackman is one of the original figures of the Finnish design world. The history of Hackman started already in 1790, when the merchant Johan Friedrich Hackman from Bremen founded a trading company in the city of Vyborg. He soon looked for opportunities to relocate his business and bought the industrial area of Sorsakoski in eastern Finland at the beginning of the 19th century.
In 1876, the production of cutlery began, but it was not until 1920 that a new material revolutionised the industry: stainless steel. This opened up completely new possibilities for designers, who could now experiment much more freely with shapes.
Today, the brand is part of the Fiskars Group, which is one of the leading names in interior design.
Hackman is especially known for its large selection of Moomin cutlery from their Mumin collection, which makes children’s hearts beat faster. In the collection, you will find everything from cake servers and coffee spoons to children’s cutlery and more, with the charming characters from Moomin Valley.
Over the years, Hackman has already collaborated with several well-known designer, such as Kaj Franck and Bertel Gardberg resulting in iconic flatware collections.
