Kasthall was established in 1889 by entrepreneur Ludvig Andersson and was the first carpet factory of its kind in Sweden to utilize technology and electricity. As early as 1901, the entire production moved from “Källängs väveri” to new premises in Kinna, and the company has since been called "Kasthall." However, it wasn't until the 1920s that the company changed its name to Aktiebolaget Ludvig Andersson, Kasthall Mattor.
The company remains in Kinna but is now established in over 30 countries, with showrooms in both New York and Milan.
Kasthall's carpets are manufactured and designed in Kinna, in western Sweden.
Since the company's inception, the vision has been the same: to create carpets that are beautiful, durable, and comfortable to step on. In the Kasthall Design Studio, product developers work closely with designers to bring out the best in each material and create beautiful and unique patterns.
Kasthall has several different series of both woven and hand-tufted carpets, and here at Nordic Nest, you can find, among others:
- Kasthall Gåsöga
- Kasthall Moss
- Kasthall Greta
- Kasthall Feather
To know how to care for your Kasthall carpet, you first need to find out what type of carpet it is—whether it is woven or hand-tufted.
