The wool used in the production of Klippan blankets, throws and other products is mainly shipped from New Zealand. However, Klippan Yllefabrik is shifting towards using more wool produced in Sweden.
To begin with, Klippan Yllefabrik manufactured all products in Klippan and was one of the most modern wool spinning mills in Scandinavia in the 1970’s. Today the production has been moved to Latvia, where Klippan Yllefabrik runs its own factory. This way, Klippan Yllefabrik has full control over the quality of their products, as well as the way they are manufactured, keeping the quality and feel of what has made Klippan blankets so iconic.
...that Klippan Yllefabrik is currently working on a collection that is made exclusively from recycled wool?
Wool is a naturally dirt repellent material, it is often sufficient to hang your Klippan Yllefabrik throw or blanket up to air. This is especially effective when it is a bit humid outside, but make sure avoid direct sunlight as it can the colours can fade.
Shake your blankets in order to dislodge particles stuck to it. Shaking your Klippan blanket is a good way to keep it clean.
Smaller stains can be removed by dabbing with a damp cloth. But make sure to remove them immediately, as they can become harder to remove if they are left to be absorbed by your blanket.
Make sure to pay close attention to the washing label before machine washing your blankets and throws, as some are only to be dry cleaned.
