Skaugum of Norway has designed and produced handmade cultery since 1943 and has a long and proud history of design history and quality craftsmanship behind it. The steel is heated to 1035 degrees, before it is hammered into the desired shape. The plastic and wooden handles are also moulded or sawn by hand.
Here at Nordic Nest, you can find quality cutlery sets, serving utensils, cheese slicers and more, by the popular Norwegian brand.
Did you know that Skaugum of Norway was given permission to be called Skaugum by the Norwegian King Haakon? At the beginning, they clashed over the use of the name, and Milorg-helt Jens Christian Hauge, who was the chairman at the time, called his good friend King Haakon and asked if they could use the name, to which the King said yes.
Since 1943, Skaugum of Norway has designed and produced handmade cutlery. The elegant and timeless cutlery was originally called "Märtha" and looks exactly the same to this day.
Cutlery from Skaugum of Norway is elegant and timeless, and comes with different handles of either wood or plastic, so that it is easy for you to find something that suits your style and your needs. The plastic handles come in white, black or red, and the wood is available in a light and dark tone.
The wooden handles used for the Skaugum of Norway cutlery have two different variations. The darker wood is kebony treated maple and the lighter wood is teak.
In order for your cutlery to look as good as possible and have the longest possible lifespan, it is important to take good care of it.
One of the most important things we can do to ensure that the cutlery lasts as long as possible is to clean it properly. Skaugum of Norway cutlery with plastic handles can be washed in the dishwasher, but cutlery with wooden handles should be washed by hand.
