Bernadotte and Kylberg’s background

The design collaboration Bernadotte & Kylberg is a partnership between Carl Philip Bernadotte and Oscar Kylberg. With many years of experience behind them the pair started out studying graphic design at Forsbergs Skola in Stockholm.

In addition to their education at Forsbergs Skola the duo brings with them many other experiences from the design world into their collaboration. Carl Philip has studied at the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA while Oscar has worked as Creative Director for several national and other international brands. It is this extensive knowledge that is clearly reflected in the very popular and ever stylish design pieces that they create together.

Carl Philip Bernadotte and Oscar Kylberg began their collaboration back in 2012 and have since designed products for numerous well-known brands, both in Sweden and internationally. Bernadotte and Kylberg have, among other things, designed the candle holder Infinity for Skultuna, the Helix collection series for Georg Jensen and the Stockholm collection for Stelton.

Bernadotte & Kylberg believe their purpose as designers is to question not only how we view an object but also how we use it. They aim, through innovation and the use of new textures, materials and techniques to take design to the next level. In short, they want to create change through design.

What is the duos design philosophy?

Bernadotte & Kylberg’s design philosophy is to create unique, sustainable and timeless designs while keeping the user in sharp focus. They achieve this by letting design, innovation and aesthetics be governed by function and demand. This philosophy leads to high quality, relevant and personal products that will last for generations to come.

What does Bernadotte & Kylberg’s design language look like?

With a great passion for Scandinavian design the duo’s design language is often graphic and the starting point is always the object’s functionality. The style is both contemporary, while at the same time carrying on the Scandinavian design legacy.
