Jonas Bolin is one of Sweden’s most admired designers. He studied at the College of Arts in Stockholm where he experienced his first major breakthrough. At the 1981 exhibition show, Jonas Bohlin revealed the controversial chair ‘Concrete’. This chair was thought of as a sculpture and debate surrounded the piece as to whether it was art or not. Today, the Concrete chair is a sought after collector’s item and part of Swedish design history.
Since the success with Concrete, Jonas Bohlin has designed countless famous designs such as the Kvist lamp for Örsjö Lighting and Corona and Carisma for Rörstrand. His style is characterised by an unusual originality, elegance and precision. Jonas Bohlin always approaches his work with an artistic perspective and is not afraid to be different.
