The Danish designer Simon Karkob studied architecture at the Danish Academy of Architecture. Since then he has worked at different architect firms in Copenhagen, mainly in the area of Fredriksberg. Today Simon Karkov is retired, but still works on different projects.
Simon Karkob’s most popular product is the Norm 69 lamp. He designed the lamp as early as 1969, but the lamp was only taken into production by Normann Copenhagen in the beginning of the 2000’s. Even though the lamp was the first own product for Normann Copenhagen, the lamp was a best-seller and still is to this very day. The Norm 69 was followed by the design of the Norm 06 and the Norm 12, named after the years they were designed.
