Simon Legald

Simon Legald graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. Since then he has collaborated with numerous brands, including Normann Copenhagen. This career is rocketing and despite his young age, Simon has already designed some real classics in contemporary Scandinavian Design, including the Block table, Amp lamp, the storage units Pocket Organizer and the furniture range Form.

The Form-range was Simon Legald’s dissertation project and after three years of development, it was taken into production by Normann Copenhagen. To begin with, the range was just made up of chairs with padding, but was then complimented with a dining table. The Form range is cahracterized by its “seamless” design, where each piece seems to flow into the next. This scaled-back design is somewhat of a signature for Simon Legald.

For Legald it is important for people to understand his designs and their functions. He keeps his designs simple and straight forward, displaying the technicalities instead of hiding them.
