ECO-FRIENDLY GIFT WRAPPING – A GOOD TREND

More and more people are getting inspired by ways to simplify their life and do things a little more sustainably. Gift wrapping may not have been the first thing you switched up, but it’s a great way to decrease the amount of single-use paper and plastic in your life – And the life of the one you’re giving the gift to! An eco-friendly approach to gift-wrapping is not only good for the planet, but also shows that you’ve put a little extra thought into your gift and on top of that, it’s beautiful! Win, win, win! Explore our favourite three ways to wrap your gifts in an eco-friendly way!

If you have bigger gifts to give, wrap them in a blanket! We love gifting blankets. They’re a beautiful interior detail and can be used for years and years.

1. WRAP YOUR GIFT IN A BLANKET

A warm and snuggly blanket is a great gift for nearly anybody and on top of that, it’s great to wrap bigger gifts in. This way, nothing is thrown away. We love the thought of giving away a “cosy set”. Mix and match home-care products, scented candles and soaps to create the ultimate eco-friendly self-care kit.

Beautiful floral scraps of wallpaper are used to wrap gifts in a beautiful and environmentally friendly way.

Do you have half a roll of wallpaper left over from the last renovation? Use up the wallpaper to wrap your gifts in an eco-friendly way! The thicker paper feels both more exclusive and due to its higher quality can be reused several times.

2. WRAP YOUR GIFTS IN WALLPAPER

Don’t throw out wallpaper samples and left-over rolls from renovations. Use them to wrap your gifts – the sustainable way! Wallpaper is thicker than regular gift wrapping, creating a durable paper that is easy to fold and get a perfect finish with. And because it’s a little higher quality, you can reuse it over and over again. If you’re going to be using tape, remember to use a slightly stronger one to keep the seams from opening up. However, we recommend just using a natural-fiber string to keep your wrapping in place – no tape needed! Around Christmas you can decorate your parcels with dried orange slices, twigs and pinecones. A beautiful and natural seasonal decoration that looks and feels exclusive and on top of that is eco-friendly.

The Christmas gifts are waiting on the table, wrapped in floral wallpaper - a more sustainable Christmas gift packaging.

Decorate your gifts with eco-friendly decoration. Twigs, pinecones, gingerbread cookies and dried oranges are great choices! A beautiful, seasonal way to add the finishing touches to your gift wrapping.

A gift set of soaps and brushes is wrapped in a tea towel to be packaged as a zero-waste gift.

Our favourite: Wrap your gifts in a kitchen towel or fabric napkin!

3. WRAP YOUR GIFTS IN KITCHEN TOWELS AND FABRIC NAPKINS

We love this eco-friendly idea of wrapping a gift in a quality kitchen towel or paper napkin. The kitchen towel is an additional gift and one anyone has use for at home! Simply keep it together with a natural-fiber string and you’re all set! For Christmas, remember to decorate your parcels a little extra with some twigs, dried oranges or decorated gingerbread cookies! These are both sustainable and beautiful!

A Christmas present, wrapped in a tea towel with string, is carefully opened.

Make your Christmas a little more eco-friendly with a zero-waste approach to gift wrapping. Reuse, repurpose, recycle and try to avoid single-use!

The Christmas rice pudding is on the table, and the Christmas gifts are wrapped in tea towels for more sustainable gift wrapping.

We love the idea of seeing eco-friendly wrapped gifts on Christmas eve in all shapes, materials and colours. Will you make a change this Christmas?
