The Semi lamp by Gubi is a Scandinavian design classic in its own right. The unique design stems from a collaboration between two architect students, Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup, that created this bold, trumped-like shape as a rebellion and contrast to the "cozy era" that dominated the design world at the time. The lamp was inspired by two semi circles, placed back to back. The lamp, with its naturally flowing shape of enamelled metal, was an immediate success and is a Danish design best-seller to this day.
