Semi Ø90 pendant lamp from Gubi is a large ceiling lamp with a cone-shaped shade that directs the light downwards and a white lacquered interior that helps to spread the light effectively, making it a perfect lamp to hang over the dining table.

In reaction to the soft organic shapes that dominated Danish interior design during the late 60s, designers Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup wanted to create a lamp with distinct clean lines and a geometric form. The result was the Semi Ø90 pendant lamp, which is based on two quarter circles placed back to back.

The success was immediate. The duo Bonderup and Thorup won first prize at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts for their Semi Ø90 pendant lamp, which also became the best-selling Danish design object of the 80s. Since then, the Semi lamp has been celebrated internationally and has now achieved iconic status.

The Semi pendant lamp is equally beautiful as a solitary piece or in a group. Light up a dark corner by hanging several Semi pendant lamps and combine different sizes and colours for a lively expression.
