Doo-Wop pendant lamp from Louis Poulsen is an easily placed ceiling lamp. The pendant primarily provides a downward-directed and soft light thanks to having a white lacquered and cone-shaped inner reflector. The outer shade aids with its shape in directing the light both upwards and downwards while simultaneously spreading a soft and pleasant light. The timeless Doo-Wop pendant was first launched in the 1950s under the name Navy Pendant. The name at that time came from the pendant lamp being designed in close collaboration between Louis Poulsen and the Danish Navy’s building department. It was used among other places in the navy's dining halls and office spaces and was known for its unique lighting properties and functionality. The Navy Pendant was sold until the 1980s, but when interest in the pendant increased, it was relaunched in 2012 under its new name Doo-Wop. The shade is still hand-spun and finished with a fine rolled edge that gives it a lovely sense of volume.
