The pattern absolutely emanates life and vigour, lending energy and warmth to nearly any space. “Primavera” is the Finnish word for spring and the pattern symbolizes the earthy splendour of the season. Maija Isola created the pattern while living in Oran, Algeria with the noble landscape serving as her source of inspiration but mixed with a touch of homesickness and melancholy. She longed to return home to Finland where she could once again behold the dawn of a summer sun rising high above a sea of marigolds.
