Moominmamma Moomin plate by Moomin Arabia depicts Moominmamma resting in a rocking chair with a cup of coffee in her hand. In the Moominmamma tableware we get to know the Moomin mother all that she embodies. The Moominmamma motif takes inspiration from Tove Jansson and Lars Jansson's comic series Moomin Winter from 1959 and Moominmamma's Maid from 1956.

Tove Jansson has herself mentioned that the Moominmamma's role is modelled on her own mother Signe “Ham” Hammarsten-Jansson. The Moominmamma is the heart of the Moomin family and she is a mainstay of the Moomin Valley. The gentle, understanding and tender mother figure is always there to give advice and comfort the family and she is also the one who takes care of everyone who comes and visits the Moomin house. Everyone is welcome in Moominmamma's home!
