Nordic meets Japanese - Oaki lounge chair leather seat from Norwegian Northern is an expressive seating furniture designed by the designer Stine Aas. The chair's design is inspired by the simplicity and artistry that characterise traditional Japanese woodworking. When constructing the chair, the designer chose to conceal all joints, giving it a refined and almost weightless feel as it looks seamless. All four legs of the chair extend from the floor and meet at the angled backrest. The unusual legs are angled backwards from the seat and meet behind the chair rather than directly beneath it. This placement gives the chair a sense of movement and life as if it is taking a step backwards. Made from solid oak, Oaki is a beautiful piece of furniture loaded with character that encourages you to lean back and relax. The leather seat complements the smooth oak with a soft surface to maximise comfort.
