Nordic meets Japanese - Oaki chair leather seat from Norwegian Northern is an expressive seating furniture designed by the designer Stine Aas. The chair's design is inspired by the simplicity and artistry that characterises traditional Japanese woodcraft. When the designer constructed the chair, she chose to hide all joints, which gives a refined and almost weightless feeling as it appears seamless. All four legs of the chair go from the floor and meet at the angled backrest. The unusual legs are angled backward from the seat and meet behind the chair rather than directly underneath it. This placement gives the chair a sense of movement and life as it looks as if it is taking a step backward. Made of solid oak, Oaki is a beautiful piece of furniture loaded with much character, and the leather seat contributes to extra comfort!
