The compact wall-mounted String Shelf Pocket purple adds both colour and storage to your home. The Pocket shelf's big brother, the classic String Shelf, was designed by Nils Nisse Strinning in 1949 and went into production after winning first prize in a bookshelf competition organised by Bonniers library. With its characteristic side panels, the shelf was designed with inspiration from the dish rack Elfa that Nisse Strinning designed a few years earlier – today the String shelving system is iconic within Scandinavian design. This smaller Pocket version of the shelf was launched in 2005 and is now available in a variety of colours and materials. Like the rest of the String shelf range, you can assemble several shelf sections into a larger shelving system if desired.
